WJEC A Level Media Studies: 1 year, 5 months agoAfter teaching both AQA (old) and OCR (new) specifications, I have now joined a college teaching the WJEC specification. My job is to improve grades considerably and there were some pretty poor exam performances last year. Hopefully, this group can provide a forum for WJEC teachers to share ideas, exemplars, experiences etc.

We have WJEC and it seems to be going quite well. Our practical work for the AS students is a magazine project in which the students make a front cover and two double page spreads for the 1st edition of a new magazine. The MS1 paper normally asks about Audiences in Q2 and how/why they respond differently and then in Q3 it focuses on representations. These have often been social groups such as age, race or ethnic groups.
