Trying out the Site: 1 year, 10 months agoI could try to disable the activation email so that members are automatically approved without clicking on a link in their email account (which often ends up in junk mail) – but this will allow more spammers to get in.
However, many people have seen spammers get through just fine even with email activation enabled.
Hi Iain did Geoff Dean get through to you? And please can you remind me where I go to in order to start deleting some of the older tags?
If you log in and go to the ’Posts’ tab, then quick edit the posts and remove the unwanted tags.
I have remove a lot of these already by trashing the unwanted test posts from the first draft of the site.
also, yes Geoff did call and as you can see he’s now registered.
Thanks Iain – I’ll work on this tomorrow. Am exhausted now after spending all afternoon writing an entry for a US encyclopaedia – unpaid, needless to say…
OK I’ve tried this but can’t seem to remove them; also there are tags there that seem to be fixed. There seem to be the tags I sent you but then also the same names with either ’links’ or ’resources’ attached to them. And I don’t understand why all the categories in Links now have ’links’ attached to them. I think I’ll have to phone you on Monday and talk through this!
