Creating Media: 7 months, 1 week agoWhat are your favourite film sequences to imitate – ie to get students to reproduce shot by shot, precisely copying framing and camera position?

Creating Media: 7 months, 3 weeks agoWe’ve started on an exciting project at St Felix Middle School. Blending Media, Art and Design(MAD)the entire school is timetabled for two hours a week working on a cross-curricular project to create a digital archive when the school closes at the end of this academic year. We’ve started out this term by students focussing on themselves and will…[Read more]

Suggestion Box: 8 months, 1 week agoThanks for all your suggestions so far. I’ve no idea how easy or hard any of them would be to achieve. If you find something irritating or clunky while you are using the site – get on down to this suggestion box for a positive moan. Pete Fraser and I will be putting together a site wish list for our new technician in the fairly near future so…[Read more]

Suggestion Box: 8 months, 1 week agoI think it would be helpful if we knew who the members were and where they were so that a useful dialogue could begin between members who find out in that they may be in close proximity to each other.
Perhaps it might be useful to have the site divided up with slightly easier signposting so that new teachers can find their way to advice and…[Read more]

“In Internet culture, the 1% rule or the 90–9–1 principle (sometimes also presented as 89:10:1 ratio)[1] reflects a theory that more people will lurk in a virtual community than will participate. This term is often used to refer to participation inequality in the context of the Internet.” http://bit.ly/qIVUl4On our numbers that…[Read more]

Suggestion Box: 8 months, 3 weeks agoTend to agree with Karl – all so spread out and with so many potential routes that comments are hard to respond to and its never quite clear to me where my responses are likely to pop up. Partly an issue of design, but also possibly of risk aversity? Agree that the joy of the Media Education Manifesto was its simplicity, but that too has not…[Read more]

I think the site is very ’busy’ – too many places and ways of getting there. I think the Media Manifesto site has worked well in terms of generating conversation and that’s dead straightforward. Maybe this site is trying to do too much?? Maybe its design tends to spread people out rather than bring them together?? - Load More
Never too late… I’ve commented on your blog. MEA is currently the best place to fight for the things media education needs. Let’s hope the new-look site will enable more dynamic discussions here!
Thank you Tim. It’s great to be on board. I can’t see a comment on the blog, perhaps it’s not updated quite yet.
